Product Description


1.Product Overview

ST-COF90 Coefficient of Friction Tester measures static and kinetic coefficients of friction for sliding materials including plastic films & sheets, paper, rubber, woven sacks, paperboards, fabrics, conveyor belts, metal composite tapes for optical & communication cables, coated materials, timber, brake pads, shoe materials, windshield wipers, tires and more. By testing surface slip performance, users can control and optimize production processes and quality indicators to meet end-use requirements. With optional customized configurations, it also tests slipperiness of daily chemical products such as eye drops and cosmetics.


2. Application Scope

Standard Applications

Measurement of static and kinetic friction coefficients of plastic films/sheets, rubber, aluminum foil, paper, paperboard, plastic-paper composite films, fabrics, woven bags, metal composite tapes for communication & optical cables and other substrates during sliding contact.


Optional Custom Extended Applications

Slippage testing for cosmetics, eye drops and other daily chemical products; additionally applicable to conveyor belts, timber, catheters, carbon rods, coated materials, brake linings, shoe soles, wiper blades, artificial skin, metallic materials and crop-related friction testing.


3. Testing Principle

Fix test specimens flat onto the instrument’s test platform via the built-in clamping fixture. Place the specified slider on top of the specimen; the slider connects to the equipment’s drive unit. Force and displacement sensors fitted on the transmission system capture real-time force and displacement data throughout testing to calculate key frictional performance parameters of samples.
